Online Exhibitions(HKTDC Gifts, Premium & Stationery, Vol 01,2006)

Dynamic Displays

Worried that you won't have enough time to view all the exciting products or be able to arrange meetings with key suppliers during Hong Kong's most important trade fairs?

Help is at hand, thanks to the Online Exhibitions web-based package specifically developed by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) to take the hassle out of sourcing before, during and after major trade shows in Hong Kong.

Online Exhibitions allows international buyers to familiarise themselves online with the very latest and best products available from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, wherever and whenever they want.

Such convenient access to potentially profitable information not only provides time and cost savings, it also helps build buyer confidence before major Hong Kong trade fairs, TDC head of e-commerce and publications Clare Wong maintains.

"Every year, TDC organises more than 20 international trade fairs - seven of which are the largest in Asia - attracting some 482,000 buyers," she observes.

"However, while they are universally recognised as the leading fairs of their kind by suppliers and buyers alike, their very success has meant that buyers face the impossible task of researching and meeting thousands of potential suppliers in just a few days."

Hong Kong trade shows are therefore the prime focus of the Online Exhibitions concept, which provides:

  • online product previews two months before trade fairs and the ability to book meetings with suppliers in advance
  • promotional booths at trade fairs that let you quickly find the location of your targeted supplier
  • a one-year online product display that gives you plenty of time to source suitable products - even after fairs have ended
  • complete supplier details such as company background, product shots, trading activity, factory and advertising videos

Exhibits run the entire gamut of major Hong Kong and Chinese mainland industries including:

  • household products
  • costume jewellery
  • watches and clocks
  • eyewear
  • toys
  • bags and footwear
  • electronics and electronic components
  • garment and fashion accessories
  • gifts and premiums
  • machinery, hardware and raw materials

The TDC also participates in some 200 trade fairs worldwide to promote the latest products from Hong Kong, and also boasts a global network of some 40 offices, Wong adds.

"The unique blend of this extensive local and international trade fair programme and Online Exhibitions gives buyers unparallelled access to the very latest and best products available worldwide."
