Tops In Quality
|Using its computerized weaving machines and skilled workforce, Lucky Weaving Lace Co Ltd produces a vast array of trims in elastic, cotton, twill, polyester and metallic threads at its Chinese mainland factory.|
KEEPING pace with fashion trends is the strategy behind Lucky Weaving Lace Co Ltd, a specialist in garment trims, including tapes, applique´s, laces and small-sized labels. And, at Lucky Weaving, glamour is always in fashion.
Established more than 30 years ago, Lucky Weaving turns out dense brocades, saucy frills, playful ruffles, sophisticated jacquards, youthful braids and delicate hand-tied floral motifs, together with transparent ribbons and styles of tapes that combine several of these elements at once. These items are used by clothing, shoe and handbag manufacturers to embellish their end products.
Almost any fabric a customer specifies can be used: elastic, cotton, twill, polyester and metallic threads. "The options are virtually limitless," says company director Hui Kong.
In an industry where trends are constantly changing, Lucky Weaving proves that its fashion sense is always in style. Every season is different in the fashion garment industry, says Hui. "The most important goal is to keep in step with trends with regard to colour, design and style."
Lucky Weaving adheres to customer specifications by relying on computerized weaving machines and a skilled workforce. It has one factory on the Chinese mainland with a knowledgeable staff of more than 300 employees and a main office in Hong Kong.
The vast majority of trims are machine-made, except for the daintiest floral trims, which are tied and knotted by hand. This is a labour-intensive process that requires skilled craftsmanship.
Attention to detail is highly valued at Lucky Weaving. "Feel is very important to garment trims," says Hui, as the trim needs to move with the fabric of the garment. Appearance is also important, as the trim must appear in a complementary style to the finished product.
Most designs are custom-made. Alternatively, an in-house design team can provide samples for review.
Lucky Weaving aims for large orders from mid-sized apparel manufacturers, but Hui is open to discussing smaller orders. "We will consider an order of any size," he says. Shipment takes place 2-3 weeks following order confirmation.
Major export markets include Europe, Argentina, Australia, Dubai, the US and Japan. Both wholesalers and private firms are targeted.
According to Hui, Lucky Weaving's perennial best sellers are the trim lines. Clients are currently favouring trim with silver sequins.
Due to the dynamic nature of the fashion industry, trends change quickly and prices vary. Interested buyers are encouraged to contact Lucky Weaving directly for specific cost and delivery estimates.

Top Source Mfg Ltd
|Top Source Mfg Ltd produces a wide range of garment accessories for both the Hong Kong and overseas markets. Another product line is for gifts and premiums.|
WHEN top companies want brand-name exposure, they turn to Top Source Mfg Ltd, a company that can turn company employees and trade-show guests into walking billboards by simply using a few simple strands of woven cloth.
The range of garment accessories Top Source offers includes woven labels, computer tapes, PVC badges, embroidery badges, paper products, buckles, stoppers, iron-on aluminium transfers and fashionable trimmings.
According to general manager Patrick Chung: "Making high-quality goods is most important to our company." Chung emphasizes that his 12-year-old company focuses on satisfying customer's specifications.
Although most of Top Source's designs are custom, the company does maintain an in-house design team. "However, customers usually come with their own designs," adds Chung.
Top Source's four factories are all located on the Chinese mainland, and turn-around time is 25-30 days after order confirmation.
"Our work is precise because it is done by machine," Chung says, adding that the company's computerized machines ensure consistent quality.
Top Source's most popular item at present is the lanyard with a clear plastic name-card holder dangling from its centre often used by conference or exhibition organizers to identify guests or staff. These lanyards are often worn on an everyday basis by company employees to identify themselves to others. They are also often used to identify the members of a group of tourists or school students. Top Source can produce custom-designed lanyards displaying a company logo or tagline imprinted onto or embroidered into the woven cloth.
"The advertising benefits of such lanyards are considerable. A company's logo is visible on the lanyard for all to see, and this acts as a 'walking billboard'," adds Chung.
Top Source also has a product line for gifts and premiums, and this includes the plastic buckles often seen on belts, rucksacks and backpacks and the plastic stoppers that can often be found on athletic jackets and pants in places where adjustments in fit are needed. These buckles and stoppers can be custom-made in different colours and sizes, and since both items are made using custom-designed metal moulds, consistent quality is assured.
Top Source also uses paper in the brand-name tags that supply supplementary product information or create a "story" for a particular garment.
Raw materials come from the Chinese mainland, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. Major markets are Hong Kong, the US and various countries in Europe and Asia.
