New tdctrade.com Service

Use a fairground computer to instantly generate a list of relevant suppliers with booth numbers, contact details and product photographs

The dazzling variety of new products at Hong Kong trade fairs need no longer overwhelm buyers, thanks to the total sourcing solution pioneered by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC).

The time-pressed buyer with specific targets in mind is now able to locate the right items and suppliers as quickly and efficiently as possible.

A new, free and extremely user-friendly online service has recently been introduced to take the hassle out of showground sourcing for time-pressed buyers visiting Hong Kong trade fairs.

The tdctrade.com sourcing initiative recently developed and implemented by the TDC at most of its 30 trade fairs per year is already proving a runaway success.

"The tdctrade.com sourcing service provides all the information I need - it has even got the booth numbers and product photographs," observed Imagination Enterprise Inc CFO Presentacion Dominguez, who was searching for furniture and household accessories at the recent Hong Kong Houseware Fair.

The first-time visitor to the Hong Kong Houseware Fair admitted he didn't know about the tdctrade.com sourcing service until he was approached by a member of the TDC's mobile team, which offers service and help to visitors and complements 30 onsite helpers.

"A TDC representative offered to help me with this service and I was immediately impressed as I could see it would help us source more effectively and expand our business - I will definitely recommend it to my colleagues," he said.

Linked to a highly-efficient search engine, tdctrade.com sourcing helps buyers find interesting suppliers and products via a comprehensive database.

The database contains background information and product details of some 100,000 suppliers, including exhibitors at TDC fairs as well as those who advertise in the council's 14 trade magazines and online sourcing platform.

Inputting product details into the computer instantly generates a list of relevant suppliers with booth numbers, contact details and product photographs in both hard copy and email.

The tdctrade.com sourcing service is accessible from terminals strategically located at different locations at TDC fairs at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Equally impressed with the new service was Jorgen de Bang, president of Danish premium importer and retailer Unicom Int'l Corp.

"I have never seen this kind of service at other trade fairs," enthused de Bang, who sources products from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and is a frequent visitor to the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. He believed that the tdctrade.com sourcing service was "very good" and would help him source more efficiently.

"The product pictures are great, the information is excellent and overall it is a very useful and efficient service," de Bang added.

"You get a lot of information quickly, can find your suppliers and speed up your enquiries and I will have no hesitation using it again and recommending it to my friends."

Such resounding rounds of applause for tdctrade.com sourcing clearly indicate that this innovative trade support feature will be a huge success with buyers and suppliers, who can now connect with a click.
