Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter
The two events being held concurrently from 12-15 January 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre have long been recognised as ideal venues to spot the latest trends, and this year is no exception.
The continuing success of Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter is built on its long history of excellence in organisation and marketing, answering industry needs in a specific and relevant manner.
The 40th edition of the fair, the largest of its kind in Asia and the second largest in the world, the 2009 fair will house more than 1,500 exhibitors from around the world.
A new Fabrics & Yarn zone focuses on the very basics of the garment trade, spotlighting fabrics such as cotton, embroidery, novelty and functional fabrics, knitted fabrics, linen, ramie and more.

Given this exciting array of proven attractions, there's little doubt that this year's fair will emulate the success of the 2008 edition of Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter, which attracted 23,700 trade visitors from 100 countries and regions.
Running alongside Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter, the 7th edition of HKTDC World Boutique, Hong Kong promotes designers' collections and brands from around the world.
More than 350 exhibitors' displays will feature brands and designers, ranging from garment collections to fashion accessories, home fashion and lifestyle products, and small gifts.
This year sees ladies' underwear specialist Shirley of Hollywood make its debut at World Boutique, Hong Kong, where it will be joined by 20 designers from the Indonesian Fashion Design Association.
Major exhibitors include VOGLINE,VSP from France, MINELLI RENATO and FONTANI of Italy and Japan's OKAb footwear company, not to mention Moiselle, IKA BUTONI, Johnstons Cashmere, FIORUCCI, Jnby Since 1994, ommo, Cocomojo, Tif & Tiffy, Diane Freis evening gowns, KOOSHI lingerie), PAUL & CO and RABEANCO from Hong Kong.
A whirl of fashion presentations, informative events and stimulating design ideas, the show includes the International Fashion Designers' Showcase that sees bright young designers from Hong Kong and overseas exhibit their newest styles.
Another highlight is the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest, which nurtures a new generation of designers who will further enhance the image of Hong Kong as a fashion design centre.
Finalists' entries in Casual & Jeans-wear, Contemporary Day-wear and Party & Evening-wear categories will be showcased in catwalk parades during the fair.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the two events bring the garment and fashion industry up-to-date with the latest trends and further underscore Hong Kong's reputation as a global fashion sourcing hub.
Hong Kong's exports of a wide variety of clothing and clothing accessories to markets around the world were valued at US$2.8bn in 2007, with the US the biggest market with a share of around 37%.
Other markets included the Russian Federation and several countries in Southeast Asia, while the EU continued to show healthy growth.
One thing is certain - this year's Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and World Boutique, Hong Kong will continue to feature the latest eye-catching designs that captivate buyers the world over.
