Functional, luxurious and fashion-forward, a patent bag is probably one of the modern woman's most useful and conspicuous fashion accessories
Pressed into service almost every day, women's bags have to be rugged as well as stylish if they are to survive the rigours of the cosmopolitan lifestyle.
To meet demand, Hong Kong manufacturers produce an endless array of elegant patent bags in styles and colours that offer a fresh appeal and modern vibe at highly competitive prices.
Jibsen Industrial Ltd Marketing Officer Crystal Yip says the company manufactures a wide range of ladies' patent handbags that is constantly updated to follow the latest fashion trends.
"For example, our BG-045521 patent leather top-zip hobo is made of Korean cow leather with the shoulder strap decorated with studs of various sizes," Ms Yip explains.
She says the "simple style" is popular among career women, and adds that durable materials in the latest colours are used to produce patent handbags.
"For instance, our BG-043814 patent shoulder bag is made from a special Korean PVC that features a crinkle pattern," Ms Yip adds. "It also includes two small frame pockets on the front and is decorated with contrast stitching and paint, which makes it an eye-catching fashion accessory."
She says Jibsen Industrial's latest range of patent PVC bags fits neatly with the latest movement towards oversized bags, and cites the company's BG-045836 double handle, patent shoulder bag produced in a range of vibrant colours as a perfect example of combining chic with function.
The bag also features studs and buckles, a specially designed zipper and an additional multifunctional pocket. "The wide base and extra zip-pocket provide a lot of room, which is useful for casual occasions," Ms Yip remarks.
The firm uses metal hardware such as buckles, studs and metal charms to add additional appeal, while contrast stitching and additional painting are also used to help transform simple designs into products that are more attractive.
"Our handbags are designed to reflect international fashion trends, based on in-house research of the latest developments in fashion and materials by our design teams located in New York and Hong Kong," Ms Yip notes.
"Our team of eight designers stays in touch with the latest market trends, which allows them to produce new products that create end-user attention."
Trendmark Handbags Co Ltd is another far-sighted firm that closely monitors the fashion industry to ensure its products stay in line with the latest trends.
Manager Ronald Choy notes that working with OEM clients requires the firm to keep abreast of the latest market trends. "This helps us to smoothly interpret customers' concepts and offer appropriate advice when developing their collections," he says.
As a result, Trendmark's in-house design team creates more than 40 new handbag styles each season to form a new collection that, Mr Choy says, places emphasis on creating stylish, versatile and elegant bags. "Our designs are aimed at fashion-conscious females who appreciate fine design and quality workmanship," he advises.
He cites Trendmark's patent flap bag (model 14288) and patent shoulder bag (model 14400) as classic examples of products influenced by the latest Italian fashion trends. "We also model some of our designs on handbags produced by the leading fashion houses, as we find that our customers tend to look for similar designs, materials, colours and finishings," Mr Choy reveals.
Trendmark's handbags are generally made from PU, PVC, fabric, cotton and nylon. "We develop our own collections and also collections for our OEM customers," Mr Choy explains. "In addition to closely monitoring fashion trends, we also pay close attention to price, quality control and prompt delivery times."
Equally focused on quality and design innovation, Splendid Handbag Ltd relies on more than 40 designers to produce a wide range of patent handbags and other styles.
"We incorporate a lot of PU, PVC, polyester and other types of fabrics into our designs," says Designer Rick Tse. "Our aim is always to catch the customer's attention with something new, and our product portfolio includes everything from classic styles to very modern chic."
He says there is a general trend towards lots of bright colours such as peacock blue. "The patent material emphasises the beauty of the styles," Mr Tse believes, adding that the company is also seeing demand for a softer shape in top-quality materials.
Splendid's embossed patent croco (PV21015-00 and PV21016-00) made from PU is a good example of creating a product that provides a subtle blend of hyper-luxury and modern classic elegance.
Mr Tse says the firm's core competencies include strong R&D, stringent quality control and competitive pricing. "We are a very market-oriented company and we move with customers' needs, producing exactly what they require," he claims.
The company also produces genuine leather handbags, travel bags, briefcases and rucksacks for many famous names including Benetton, Fred Perry, Lancome and Ralph Lauren.
Whatever the requirement, when it comes to innovative design, workmanship and quality materials, patent bags produced by Hong Kong manufacturers are essential elegance in demand all over the world.
