Labels & Labels Ltd

Labels & Labels Ltd has been manufacturing quality labels since 1970

If custom embroidery and weaving specialist Labels & Labels were to hang a tag on itself, it would no doubt highlight its aim to provide the highest quality labels with time-sensitive worldwide delivery.

"We are a family business that prides itself on producing quality embroidered labels with a fast turnaround time and punctual delivery," explains manager Terry Chan.

Unlike some companies that grow by surfing trends, Labels & Labels has been producing labels since 1970. "It is all we have ever done," he stresses. "Put simply, we provide embroidered or woven labels for any product that requires a quality label."

Labels & Labels is equally proud of the service it offers its customers. "Service is not just about design and delivery," Chan insists. "The quality of our work speaks for itself; we enjoy repeat orders from clients that range from schools and military organisations to multinational corporations."

The company produces all kinds of machine-woven or embroidered patches, emblems, crests, shoulder slides, epaulettes and neck labels, manufactures PVC and rubber labels and also offers a woven ribbon-braiding service. "Our clients are located all over the world and we try to assist them no matter how specialised or varied their requirements," says Chan.

Labels & Labels' catalogue and website are brimming with examples of embroidered and woven items that have been manufactured for police and security forces and fire services, as well as hand-embroidered crests, novelty designs, corporate and sports logos for clubs and associations all over the world.

The company offers heat-seal motifs, chenille numbers, badges, crests, trim, novelty items and digitising for patches, labels, PVC rubber patches, lanyards and key tags.

"We think about our clients' needs when we are dealing with new orders and make sure the labels they order are suitable for their markets," Chan says, adding that many years in the business ensure the company knows what works and what doesn't. "We see this knowledge as an added-value strength we provide to our clients."

He also notes that today's product life cycles change rapidly, which requires good client and supplier relationships, and clients also carry fewer inventories which means that lead times are often very short. "We frequently receive rush orders and when this happens we do everything we can to help the client," Chan claims.

Similarly, he explains, these days there is more competition. "Now it is head-to-head business and this means doing something different to remain competitive," he observes.

Once, price was the most important factor. "Today, it is quality, product variety, fast deliveries, fast responses, good feedback and price," Chan says, adding that it is commonplace for customers to place an order and expect a response within an hour.

He maintains the company has systems and processes in place to meet demand. "We have developed processes that allow us to provide punctual delivery, but we always keep a close eye on quality," claims Chan.

Labels & Labels has invested heavily in technology to ensure top quality, and uses Japanese-made Tajima embroidery and Swiss Muller multi-colour weaving machines at its 300-worker factory in Guangdong Province on the Chinese mainland.

In addition, the company maximises flexibility by requiring no minimum order and basing costs on the size and complexity of individual requests.

"We are happy to discuss client's requirements regardless of the size of the order," Chan says, adding that the company is happy to accept electronic orders to further speed the ordering process.

For artwork that requires no editing, Labels & Labels accepts designs in JPEG or TIFF format, with a minimum resolution of 150 dpi in the exact size or up to 200 per cent enlarged.

Artwork that requires editing is only accepted in CDR, AI or EPS format with all text converted to curve or outline and images with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi in the exact size or up to 200% enlargement.

Given this long-term commitment to quality and punctuality that have made its items proven winners all over the world, Labels & Labels looks set to hang around for many years to come.
