Bar & Drinks Accessories
A Heady Mix
Perfect Home Products Industries Co offers a five-piece revolving bar set ideal for mixing drinks at home
To appropriately toast any special event, one needs the right tools and accessories. When it comes to bar and drinks accessories, Hong Kong manufacturers can offer the widest range of well-designed and affordable products.
A successful manufacturer of bar accessories is Perfect Home Products Industries Co, which offers products that are both functional and appealing. According to manager Andy Cheung, the company excels in the production of bar accessories and cheese containers made of wood and stainless steel from Japan.
Popular items include a five-piece revolving bar set (model BS-005W), equipped with necessary tools including an ice bucket, a shaker and coasters, that is priced at US$12.40 FOB Hong Kong.
The price of a shaker alone starts from US$2.80, and is available in different forms and sizes, ranging from 350ml, 500ml or 750ml to 1 litre.
"Our strength lies in an interesting mix of product lines, creativity and finishing," Cheung notes. "Although the functions of such accessories are static, there is still room for improvement in the designs of handles and overall shapes."
Apart from OEM orders, Perfect Home Products is also engaged in the production of "open items", featuring in-house designs or clients' ideas. In addition, the company has established an in-house brand - Perfect Stainless - which is dedicated to stainless steel products such as barware and kitchen tools.
Established in 2003, the company operates a 4,000-square-metre factory in Guangdong Province on the Chinese mainland, which employs 120 workers. Monthly production is 300,000 pieces of bar accessories. It requires a minimum order size of about 6,000 sets for the revolving bar set and 9,000 pieces for shakers. Delivery takes 45 days after order confirmation to its major markets in the US and Europe.
A veteran maker of innovatively-designed bar accessories is Courtesy Ltd. Director Calvin Leung notes that the company's corkscrew with an integrated foil cutter (model EZ-Pull) is an "evergreen product".
"A modified version of this 2-in-1 self-climbing corkscrew has an appealing design featuring a window that allows users to see the upward movement of the cork," Leung explains.
To make it more sturdy and durable, the company not only sources ABS from Taiwan to make the body but also employs an advanced technique to weld two separate body parts together. The handle is made of synthetic rubber imported from Japan and Taiwan.
"The popularity of the product has inspired a lot of copy versions on the mainland. However, the copycat's quality is definitely below par. Our competitively-priced product also easily beats similar models from Switzerland, France and Holland," Leung says.
Courtesy's other well-received designs include a foil cutter (model EC11) that serves as an ideal promotional gift for wine makers, as well as a champagne bottle opener (model EM09) that removes the cork gently.
Thanks to two decades of experience in making wine accessories, Courtesy has secured a strong foothold in both the OEM and ODM sectors.
The company has a 260-worker, 5,300-square-metre factory in Guangdong Province. Monthly production of the EZ-Pull model is 15,000 pieces, while models EC11 and EM09 total 50,000 pieces each.
It has a minimum order value requirement of US$2,500, with delivery taking about 35-40 days after order confirmation. Major markets are the US, Europe, Australia, South Africa and South America.
Yet another maker of innovative bar accessories is Fully Golden Ltd. It offers about 30 designs every year at extremely competitive prices, according to merchandiser Molly Mo.
Founded in 1994, the company generates about 80% of its sales from stainless steel flasks, with the rest coming from cigarette cases and card cases.
The company's LA Collection brand has won wide international acclaim for quality and innovative design, Mo claims. Major buyers of the company's products include department stores and design houses in Europe and the US.
"We have witnessed quite steady growth in our markets worldwide," Mo says, adding that prompt delivery and reliable service have been the keys to success.
Production is done at the company's 40,000-square-foot factory in Shenzhen on the mainland, which sources stainless steel from Japan and Korea. It has the capacity to make up to 80,000 flasks a month. Fully Golden seeks a minimum value of US$5,000 per order, with delivery taking 45 days after order confirmation.
Hong Kong manufacturers of bar and drinks accessories have a wide range of products, innovative designs and attractive prices to bring joy to the most discerning connoisseur.
