On 12 October 2016, the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular No. 23/2016/TT-BCT which announced the revocation of Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT, effective 26 November 2016.

The previous Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT stipulated content limits and testing procedures for formaldehyde and banned cleavable aromatic amines from azo dyes in textile products as well as inspection requirements. This previous circular has been nullified effective 26 November 2016. Therefore, textile products sold in the local Vietnamese market shall no longer be subject to these requirements.
