HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair
Asia's largest elecronics event is going to be bigger and better than ever next year
The HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2009 (Spring Edition) and HKTDC International ICT Expo will be even more of a "must-attend" event than ever.
The fairs will feature a host of innovations that offer exciting new business opportunities for electronics manufacturers and software developers alike, according to Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Assistant Director Raymond Yip.
"April is a golden sourcing season that sees many overseas buyers flock to Hong Kong, and we have planned accordingly by scheduling the two fairs to run together from 13-16 April 2009 to draw more quality buyers to Hong Kong," he observes.
"Looking at the steadily growing number of exhibitors and buyers, our strategy has proved to be a successful one that enables buyers to visit two related trade fairs at the same time."
The 5th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) attracted 2,469 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions, including first-time participants from Brazil, Israel, Macau, Romania and Thailand, and some 51,000 buyers from 162 countries and regions.
Running alongside, the International ICT Expo brought together 585 information technology suppliers and software applications developers from 20 countries and regions, including new exhibitors from the Netherlands and the UAE.
Little wonder, then, that in its relatively short history the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) has grown to become the largest fair of its kind in Asia, and the second largest in the world.
The 2009 edition will be just as exciting and profitable, with several noteworthy attractions expected to draw throngs of buyers and exhibitors alike.
First and foremost is the Hall of Fame, a suitably stylish setting hosting quality brand names with strong appeal in the consumer market and the electronics manufacturing industry.
More than 170 exhibitors took part in the last Hall of Fame, among them major brand names including Desay, For You, Galanz, GOODWAY, Haier, Hyundai, MICRODIA, OLEVIA, OTIC and TCL.
The 2009 Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) will also feature several other specialised product zones designed to help buyers locate their precise needs.
These include such irresistible drawcards as:
There will also be numerous large pavilions, including the Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan.
International ICT Expo, a professional trade fair held concurrently, lets information, communications and technology companies showcase their state-of-the-art software solutions and services.
Some 27,000 buyers flocked to last year's International ICT Expo, including 15,000 from outside Hong Kong - mainly from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, the US, Korea, Japan, Australia, India, the UK, Germany and Russia.
"A carefully selected series of seminars will help exhibitors and buyers keep abreast of the latest product, business and market trends in the dynamic electronics world," Mr Yip adds.
"All in all, we are confident that this magnificent array of attractions will ensure that the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2009 (Spring Edition) and the concurrent International ICT Expo will further cement Hong Kong's status as a leading international electronics sourcing centre."
