New Highlights Power Electronics Show(HKTDC Electronics, Vol 01,2006)
Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition)
To be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 14-17, 2006, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2006 (Spring Edition) now matches the Autumn Edition as the best opportunity in Asia to view the latest trends, meet suppliers and review industry developments at informative seminars.
"This year's Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) is firmly on track to be even more successful than last year's," says Anne Chick, senior exhibitions manager of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the fair organiser. "Last year some 47,150 visitors from 150 countries and regions came to see the huge range of products on show."
This year's fair will feature more than 2,400 exhibitors, including group pavilions from the Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan. Visitors are also expected to turn out in force for such special highlights as the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Pavilion, a new section for Lighting, and a special showcase of high-quality brands in the Hall of Fame.
The TDC has developed a range of innovative attractions to ensure the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) maintains its international reputation as the leading event of its kind in Asia.
For example, a dedicated Lighting Section will be introduced, reflecting the sector's increasingly important role in interior design. This new section complements the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair held annually in October, and will allow more than 130 exhibitors to showcase their latest products to enthusiastic buyers keen to source electronic and lighting products.
The Hall of Fame enables buyers to view branded high-quality and fashionable electronic products in a superior setting and has been added to the fair following its runaway success at the Autumn Edition.
More than 140 exhibitors will showcase their products in the Hall of Fame, including such leading brands as AFK, Apollo, Goodway, Hongo, Kenlex, Otic Digitech and Oxygen, giving buyers a one-stop opportunity to source the very latest products.
In addition, three electronics growth areas that are expected to prove big draw cards will also have their own special zones at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair Spring Edition:
- Electronic Manufacturing Services will feature contract-manufacturing services, including design and assembly
- Digital Imaging will spotlight many of the products and accessories currently revolutionising the consumer market, such as digital cameras, digital videos and web cameras
- Healthcare Electronics will appeal to the growing home health and fitness equipment segment and will feature the latest generation of such items as pedometers, fat monitors, electronic scales, massage chairs, air purifiers and ionisers
Several popular regular attractions will make welcome returns, including the ICT Pavilion that is a 'must' for all buyers seeking state-of-the-art software solutions and services.
ICT Pavilion exhibitors will display their latest technologies and applications to buyers keen to sharpen their competitive edge in the fast-paced information and communications technology sector.
The Spring Edition also sees the return of the Metal Parts and Components Pavilion, where Hong Kong Metals Manufacturers Association member companies will present an array of connectors, metal cases and heat dissipating devices for a wide range of electronic products.
The Hong Kong Electronics Parts Procurement Square will again showcase major Japanese electronics companies in a novel exhibition concept that lets manufacturers make contact with reputable suppliers of parts and components such as PCBs, LCDs, semi-conductors and transformers, many of whom will also be exhibitors at the fair.
There will also be an exciting programme of seminars and forums specially designed to keep participants abreast of the changes in this rapidly moving industry.
The wide range of seminars and forums will include Colour & Design Trend of Household Appliances & AV Products, and a Chinese Mainland-HK-Overseas Tripartite Partnership on Software Outsourcing Forum presented by the Guangzhou and Chengdu Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau.
The Federation of Hong Kong Industries and the Hong Kong Electronics Industry Council will also conduct a seminar on Opportunities & Trends of Digital Audio/Video.
Chick believes that this winning combination of proven attractions and new innovations will ensure that the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2006 (Spring Edition) will set new standards of excellence.
"There is literally something for everyone in the electronics industry at this fair - be they exhibitors or buyers," Chick maintains. "We have set out to offer the most exciting range of exhibits possible and I am confident that buyers will respond by making the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2006 (Spring Edition) the most successful to date."
