The Lighting Section that spotlighted stylish products from more than 130 companies and the Hall of Fame that showcased original and innovative designs from over 150 exhibitors proved immensely popular.
However, they were just part of the enormous array of attractions from nearly 2,800 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions that included first-time participants the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland and Spain.
The total number of exhibitors at the last spring event was 15% up on the previous year, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council expects even bigger numbers this year on the back of buoyant export statistics.
Hong Kong's total exports of electronics rose 14% to HK$542,880m in the first six months of 2006, with key markets such as the Chinese mainland, Germany and the US all posting double-digit growth.
Given these encouraging figures, there's little doubt that the 19% increase that boosted the total number of
buyers at last year's event to an impressive 50,000-plus looks like being bettered in 2007.
They will be able to browse a wide range of innovative electronics and information and communication technology (ICT) products from leading Hong Kong, Chinese mainland and international manufacturers.
Product categories on display will range from AV, digital image, electronics accessories and electronic manufacturing services to healthcare electronics, home appliances, telecommunication products and personal electronics.
Other highlights will include the International ICT Expo, a professional trade fair for information, communications and technology companies to showcase their state-of-the-art software solutions and services.
A series of seminars will also be held during the fair, during which industry experts will share their insights on product trends and market potential.
Given these unrivalled attractions, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) looks destined to be another record-breaking success with exhibitors and buyers alike.
