International Lighting Fair
Discover thousands of new and fashionable lighting products from more than 1,500 exhibitors at the largest lighting fair in Asia, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2008 that runs at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27-30 October will showcase a vast variety of exciting lighting.
There will be traditional lamps, pendants and chandeliers galore, as well as the trendsetting environmentally friendly lighting products in demand worldwide.
Hong Kong International Lighting Fair highlights include:
Another key attraction will be the chance to view the creations of this year's finalists in the Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition that debuted successfully in 2007 and seeks to foster shining new talent for the industry.
The Power of Light theme reflects the competition's aims to cultivate design talents to develop innovative products, promote Hong Kong's lighting products among international buyers and encourage the younger generation to join the lighting industry.
Given these various attractions it's little wonder that almost 27,900 buyers from 133 countries and regions visited last year's fair, an increase of 11.4% over 2006 and a graphic reflection of Hong Kong's standing in the international lighting industry.
Hong Kong's total exports of lighting products reached US$1.46bn in 2007, further underscoring the rising popularity of Hong Kong lighting products in various parts of the world.
Exports to many countries recorded significant growth, including France (+44.2%), South Africa (+134.5%), Russia (+118.8%), Pakistan (+94.1%), Indonesia (+113.9%) and India (+82.9%).
Buyers from these and many other countries will also be able to source related products from other concurrent events such as the Hong Kong International Building and Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair, Hong Kong International Furniture Fair and Eco Expo Asia - International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection that will run from 28-31 October at AsiaWorld-Expo, adjacent to the Hong Kong International Airport.
