Myanmar Looks to End Tax-free Cars and Luxury Goods Imports

The Myanmar government is said to be considering changes to the tax-free regime that currently relates to the import of cars and luxury goods. The move follows a report by the country's Joint Affairs Committee for Projects and Development that cited the exemption as one of the contributing factors to Myanmar running a trade deficit in the first half of the 2015-16 financial year.
